The Namibia Red Cross Society appeals for support from members of the public to assist more than 60 000 people who have been affected by flood in the north-east and north-west of the country.
The affected communities are in desperate need of basic necessities like clothes, blankets, food and shelter. The badly affected areas are Caprivi in the north-east, Oshana, Omusati and Ohangwena in the north-west.
The Namibia Red Cross Society is concerned about the possible outbreak of waterborne diseases and Malaria in the affected areas, if communities are not properly assisted with mosquito nets and water purification tablets.
The National Society thanks members of the public for their continued valuable support in improving the lives of the vulnerable communities.
Donations in kind can be delivered at any closest Red Cross office countrywide, while monetary donations can be deposited in the following bank account:
