Namibia Red Cross Society was established in 1992 by an Act of Parliament No.16 of 1991. The National Society was subsequently accepted as a member of the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement during their Annual General Meeting in 1992.
Trust us. We build on profound experience because over the years, the Namibia Red Cross Society has effectively responded to national disasters such as Polio outbreaks, floods, major road accidents and severe food insecurities. The National Society is also an active participant in the fight against HIV.
Our national strategic plan 2006-2010 outlines our plan of action and strategies designed to achieve our overall aim.
Today, Namibia Red Cross Society runs 13 projects across all the13 regions in Namibia and through a team of 548 qualified and dedicated staff in all regions and almost 4000 volunteers.
