Memorandum of Understanding
between the NAC and the NRCS
On the 4th of February 2009, Namibia
Red Cross Society (NRCS) and Namibia Airports Company
Limited (NAC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
that will allow NRCS to collect donations at Hosea Kutako
International, Eros and Walvis Bay Airports.
The funds will be collected through Red Cross branded
collection boxes that will be placed in selected areas of
the three airports.
The collection of funds is a partnership between NAC and the
Namibia Red Cross Society in their commitment to alleviate
suffering among the most vulnerable communities.
NAC and NRCS have worked together in the past in the area of
disaster management whereby the airports company contributed
generously to the flood disaster that affected most northern
parts of the country last year.
The partnership is proof of NACs commitment to its social
responsibility towards citizens of this country.
The funds collected by the Namibia Red Cross Society will be
used in giving social assistance to the community through
food donations, buying of school uniforms for Orphans and
other Vulnerable Children (OVC) and buying coffins for poor
families to enable them to bury their families in dignity.
The Namibia Red Cross Society appreciates this humanitarian
gesture and would like to strengthen its existing
relationship with the Namibia Airports Company and other
entities in its quest to improve the lives of the most
vulnerable members of our society.
